mommy and eli bonding

pk is away with his buds following he beloved cardinals (GO CARDS!), so eli and i have been kicking it alone this weekend. yesterday we had a great day of play…lots of books, lots of peek-a-boo, lots of giggles, lots of basketball. today he had some cici bonding while i taught a couple classes (thanks cici!) and once i got home we packed in some major play. a MINI power nap (sigh), a long walk, a trip to the park to swing (he LOVES it) and slide, and some quality time ripping up mommy’s stack of magazines (he gets a major thrill out of tearing the pages apart — bye bye magazines. it’s not like i really read them anymore anyway!). he’s yet to have a good nap so it could make for an interesting evening. sometimes no nap = bad night of sleep. let’s hope that’s not the case b/c i am in major need of some dvr and wine time this eve! and, i would sure love to sleep past 5:45am!

on that note, off to play some more and wear this boy out!

(Blog reader de-lurking here.) Oh my goodness Meredith, Eli keeps getting cuter. Sounds like you’re having a nice kick-back weekend. I have a question and immediately thought of you as the perfect person to answer it (seeing as you are my wino sister-from-another mother)- what was your stance on drinking in the 2ww? I am currently 12dpo, negative hpt this morning, probably headed toward AF… headed out to dinner tonight- should I go ahead and have some wine/cocktails tonight or play it super duper safe? WWYD?

well, i am by no means a doctor, BUT i did indulge some during the 2ww (at least the one that worked!). for the first few cycles, i abstained. then, with the IUI that worked i had convinced myself it was not going to work so i let myself have some wine. in fact, i think i had several glasses (several times) during that wait.:) my stance was that at that point of pregnancy (if i was pregnant) nothing was developing yet…it was still implanting. again, i’m NOT a doctor but i find it helps me relax a little! if i were in your shoes, i would go enjoy a couple cocktails. it will help you relax (just don’t go on a crazy bender…save that for IF it doesn’t work…but let’s think positive!). thinking about you!

and, thanks for the sweet words about eli. he is definitely a treat!

I like how you think 🙂 I’ve read a lot of different theories about implantation and what matters when…. but at the end of the day, people like us who even know what “12dpo” even means are way ahead of the curve when it comes to knowing if/when we are pregnant and making lifestyle changes as needed as soon as that day comes!

I think I will enjoy a couple of drinks… I can’t stop enjoying life just ’cause of TTC.

    Thanks! Have a nice night!

Oh and plus, Eli is perfect so I know it was a-ok in your situation.

(and of course, no lawsuits coming your way. If I wanted a doc’s opinion I’d ask a doc, but what fun is that?! 🙂

  4. […] are celebrating!). it’s been a GREAT day and end to a pretty amazing weekend over here. as i shared , eli and i have been kickin’ it at home this weekend while pk has been cheering on the cards. […]
